Projects - Evidence base review of 'Better use' transport schemes

Evidence base review of 'Better use' transport schemes
Evidence base review of 'Better use' transport schemes Jean was the lead transport researcher in a team led by Independent Social Research. The evidence based review assessed the extent to which a wide range of low cost schemes (such as car sharing, teleworking and improving facilities for cyclists) can be used to improve the performance of the transport network without changes to the basic infrastructure. The review considered evidence from over 400 schemes documented in transport literature from around the world and reported in detail on the evaluation evidence in a selection of some 60 case studies, analysing the way in which each scheme contributed to meeting the Department of Transport’s five key objectives. The project formed the first phase in a wider programme of work on the role of low cost schemes in making better use of the network and meeting government objectives.
