Alan Carter Alan has 10 years experience as an Independent Consultant following 7 years with Peek Traffic, 3 as managing director of the Systems division and 4 in sales and marketing roles. This followed 24 years experience in UK and international marketing and project roles with Plessey then Siemens.
Alan is an internationally recognised expert in Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) and traffic management and an achiever of results in new and established high technology fields. He is a skilled manager in business analysis, man-management and communications and an innovative problem-solver in complex technical and market situations. Widely travelled, he has visited over 55 countries on traffic and transport technology business. Until 2008, he was Chairman of the ITS (UK) Local Authority Urban Interest Group and a member of the IET Automotive and Road Transport Systems executive committee.

Services Provided

  • Consultancy services in traffic and transport technology and ITS applications, for both public and private sector clients.
  • Conduct of market research and analysis of stakeholder requirements and issues, and the development of strategies in the deployment of ITS.
  • Project and programme management for ITS projects from conception through to final acceptance and handover.
  • Consultancy in marketing and general management in the ITS sector, including both urban and inter-urban applications.
  • Audit of existing and planned systems and equipment, including supply, maintenance and operation.
  • Exhibition and event management services for the automotive engineering and ITS sectors.
  • Preparation and production of ITS promotional material and brochures.
